Steve Luttmann
Steve started his career at Unilever in Foods, working in Europe, the United States, and Brazil on various brands including Lipton Iced Tea, Ben & Jerry’s, Bertolli, CICA/Knorr, and Ragu Pasta Sauce. In 2003, he joined Diageo & Moët Hennessy’s Schieffelin & Somerset as Senior VP of Marketing and continued with Moët Hennessy after the joint venture split. In 2005, he created his own spirits brand, Leblon Cachaça —Brazil’s preeminent craft spirit— which became the leading super-premium Cachaça in the United States with presence in more than 40 countries. Leblon was acquired by Bacardi Ltd in 2015. Steve Luttmann is the Founder and CEO of Hercules Mulligan. In 2019, Steve launched Hercules Mulligan’s Rum & Rye with a killer recipe and a blockbuster-worthy story that inspired the brand. Hugely successful in DTC, Hercules Mulligan is now expanding to 41 U.S. markets and is supported financially by its enthusiastic consumer base with more than 2,000 consumer-investors. Steve also launched Bahnbrëcker, the world’s first Hefeweizen Whiskey, in Texas in 2021 with Country Music Star Randy Rogers & Friends. Luttmann is a graduate of Penn State and NYU, and lives in NYC. His marketing agency, Tortoise & Volt, has provided strategic marketing and business strategy to various companies, including Betty Buzz, Aviation Gin, McDonalds, Campbells, PepsiCo, Diageo, Bacardi, Justice In Motion, and Newman’s Own.
